SKYSPACE Green Roofs provides programming and design strategies for storm water management, insulation, roof membrane protection and urban farming through the creation of vibrant roof gardens with numerous environmental benefits.

INSTALLATION

Our team is professionally trained, licensed and insured (liability and WSIB) to safely install green roofs using current construction practices for high quality installations. Once our design team completes the layout, our installers begin site preparation. Installations can take anywhere from 3-7 days depending on size of the project area and the complexity of the green roof design. At SKYSPACE Green Roofs, safety always comes first for our clients and staff. All green roof projects are signed off for structural and wind uplift clearance by a licensed engineer before installation.

MAINTENANCE

All green roofs require some maintenance depending on the type, design and plant material; like any living thing, they require some “TLC” to optimize green roof benefits. Annual inspections and monitoring are necessary to ensuring the overall health and vibrancy of your plants, and weeds should be removed periodically. Although most green roof systems do not require irrigation, we highly recommend a temporary watering system to support your plants in taking root; this can be done manually or with a drip line. Site maintenance includes the following: Full system inspection check of the irrigation system, waterproofing membrane, drains, vents, flashing and edging; Removal of under-performing plant material; Vegetation and substrate testing and replacement if necessary.
